RICHARD ATKINSON is a freelance Musical Director, Composer and Pianist, working primarily in the field of theatre.
RICHARD is currently the Musical Director for GREASE at Kilworth House Theatre.
Other recent work includes: Musical Director for the UK Tours of HAIRSPRAY , SHREK – The Musical (also Associate Musical Supervisor) and PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT; JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, COMPANY, LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, SWEENEY TODD and SLEEPING BEAUTY at Buxton Opera House.
His most recent work as a composer includes The Emperor and the Nightingale and THE SHEPHERD’S LIFE at Theatre by the lake in Keswick, and COX & BOX – MRS BOUNCER’S LEGACY – a version of COX & BOX by Arthur Sullivan, with a new Act 2, written together with CHRIS MONKS, seen at the STEPHEN JOSEPH THEATRE, Scarborough, and on tour.
